ANGUS Announces Global Price Increase for AMP-ULTRA™ PC Neutralizing Amine

Buffalo Grove, IL - November 19, 2007

ANGUS Chemical Company, (ANGUS) is announcing a 3% price increase globally on all grades of AMP-ULTRA™ PC Neutralizing Amines, effective January 1, 2008.  ANGUS is the original industry source for nitroparaffin chemistry for the personal care market.

“We continue to seek out innovative solutions for our customers. Increased regulatory costs along with our reinvestment in our business and the markets we serve make the price increase for AMP-ULTRA PC necessary,” said Liam Doherty, global marketing manager, ANGUS.

For use in hair and personal care products, AMP-ULTRA PC provides exceptional performance as a neutralizing agent, offering excellent color stability and primary amine functionality. AMP-ULTRA PC is globally compliant and meets government restrictions including the European Cosmetics Directive and its amendments, the Ministry of Health (MOH) of the People’s Republic of China “Hygienic Standards for Cosmetics”, and the upcoming ASEAN directive. ANGUS ensures compliance through its sales specification and certificate of analysis, which indicates that products have been tested for purity, secondary amine and nitrosamine content.

ANGUS Chemical Company continues to develop and deliver distinct nitroalkane-based chemistries for customers in applications as diverse as paints and coatings, metalworking fluids, water treatment, biological buffers, solvents and thinners, wood adhesives, pharmaceutical and agricultural intermediates. Aligned as a market-focused, problem-solving specialty chemicals business, ANGUS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. Visit us online: www.angus.com
