ANGUS Announces Global Price Increase for Nitromethane Products

Buffalo Grove, IL - November 19, 2007

ANGUS Chemical Company, (ANGUS) is announcing a 10% price increase globally on all grades of nitromethane (NM™ Nitromethane), effective January 1, 2008.  As the original industry source for nitroparaffins, ANGUS remains today the global nitromethane supply leader.

“We are committed to investment and growth in key markets for nitromethane, including hobby fuels and agriculture, to ensure the continued safe use of this molecule. Our commitment to maintaining investment levels on this important molecule makes this price increase necessary,” said Nanette Hermsen, global marketing manager for ANGUS.

The functionality and versatility of NM Nitromethane make it a chemical additive of choice in a variety of industries. As an efficient nitrogen donor, nitromethane is a functional molecule for organic synthesis for the development of products such as pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals. Nitromethane is also used in hobby fuel formulations, sold by ANGUS as NITROBOOST KIX™ Fuel Additive, which provides better engine performance and more horsepower to hobby vehicles.
