
Dr. Pamela Spencer, Ph.D., D.A.B.T
Senior Vice President, Regulatory, Product Stewardship and Quality
Dr. Pamela Spencer joined ANGUS Chemical Company in October 2016 and is responsible for leading the Company’s global Regulatory Affairs, Quality and Product Stewardship functions. Prior to this role, she worked for the Dow Chemical Company for 30 years, retiring as the Scientific Director of Dow’s Toxicology Environmental Research & Consulting function.
Dr. Spencer received her doctorate from the Department of Toxicology, School of Public Health at the University of Michigan and holds a master’s degree in biology and an Honorary Doctor of Science from Central Michigan University. She has extensive experience in regulatory toxicity testing and research to define human health risks, with numerous publications to date in the areas of neurotoxicology, genetic toxicology, carcinogenicity and green chemistry.
Dr. Spencer is an advocate at every level, working to promote the concepts of safer product design with regulatory agencies, industry, academia and nongovernmental organizations. Her scientific service activities include: appointment to Chair of National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Scientific Advisory Committee on Alternative Toxicological Methods, appointment to the Board of Trustees for the Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI), Vice President, Society of Toxicology In Vitro and Alternative Methods Specialty section. She has been invited to give briefings to U.S. Congress and OECD and to contribute to scientific sessions to advance next generation educational and training needs. As a recipient of INSIGHT Into Diversity Inspiring Women in Stem National Award Recipient, Dr. Spencer is committed to the development of young women leaders in technical fields.
